4 hr - Experience the wonder of Bonaire by sailboat as we cruise the Marine Park.

Klein Bonaire
2 hr - Stop at the small, uninhabited island across from the main island of Bonaire. Only accessible by boat, it’s a perfect place to snap photos, experience drift snorkeling, and take a walk on one of the few sandy beaches of Bonaire.

Amazing full-day private charter with kids

We recently started adding private boat charters to our vacations and Life at 8 Knots really raised the bar with their personalized service. They created a full-day experience that catered to our family's preferences in terms of food, activities, snacks and drinks, even a playlist. We loved the freshly made ceviche and guac, grilled carne asada tacos (our fav street style), and the kids had post-snorkel popsicles while singing sea shanties on the way back. The Captain is also an active DM who clearly knows the reef and put me back in the water for a Refresh, showing me a seahorse, octopus, eagle ray and turtle in 30 min (lucked out...) while my kids and husband snorkeled above. At one point, we were all in the shallows, leisurely checking out an octopus together. If you have to, skip dining out a few nights to fit private charters into your vaca budget and you won't look back -- these special experiences are what we now travel for.

Find a good time on the Lost Cat!

Julia and James are the ultimate hosts! Whether you want to see the island from a catamaran, snorkel in secluded spots or scuba dive, this is the cruise for you. They cater fully to your wants and needs, and are the ultimate hosts. If you’re looking for a catered experience rather than an old played out itinerary You MUST book Life at 8 Knots! Plus they have a boat cat! Highly recommend!

Fantastic sunset cruise!

We had a really Nice sunset cruise with James and Julia, who are lovely hosts on their catamaran the lost cat. Private atmosphere, nice fresh snacks and dont forget to drink the lovely pinacolada!

Fabulous Sailing Excursion!

We recently took a diving vacation in Bonaire-- the shore diving capital of the Caribbean! We had such a wonderful time exploring on our own from the shore. However we desperately craved a sailing adventure on the open water. This is when we met James and Julia and their "toilet trained" cat!! James and Julia spoiled us with a private tour of all the great snorkeling places on the island. Their Catamaran is quite nice and very accommodating for a small group. We loved it when James and Julia unfurled the sails and we glided across the waters-- it was pure delight! Our hosts offered a spread of more "upscale" snacks --- Cheese board, hummus and flatbread pizza. Not your usual ship excursion fare! James is a very energetic and knowledgeable guide and made us feel very safe. Julia is the jewel of this party! She is the sweetest first mate you could ever come across!! We are so glad we ended our time in Bonaire with this perfect indulgence of the sea! Looking forward to seeing James Julia and Kirby again!!

Awesome Sunset Sail

After watching several episodes on the Life at 8 Knots YouTube channel, we were very excited to meet James, Julia and especially Kirby the cat. James and Julia (J2), are fabulous hosts. We immediately felt very comfortable chatting with them and learning about Life at 8 Knots. The coastline of Bonaire is very scenic and a sunset sail is the perfect way to view the charming downtown waterfront and the shores of Klein Bonaire. We came dressed and ready for some snorkeling but had such a great time chatting, snacking (delicious ceviche!!!) that the next thing we knew it was dark and the moon lit the way back home. We would highly recommend a sunset sail or day trip with J2 and will absolutely see them again when we return to Bonaire in 2022. Bon bini!
